Machine vision systems — also called image inspection systems or camera-based inspection systems — use computer vision techniques
to guarantee conformity (quality) across 100% of products or process output, and to transmit data for real-time action.
Additionally, production data acquisition supports index evaluation aligned with the Industry 4.0 concept.
Machine vision can inspect, control or measure:
- Process parameters;
- Product dimensions;
- Colors or features in other frequency bands (visible spectrum (VIS), near-infrared (NIR),
short-wave infrared (SWIR), mid-wave infrared (MWIR), long-wave infrared (LWIR), ultraviolet (UV), X-ray or gamma-ray);
- Character or code reading;
- Metrology and dimensional correlation; and
- Shapes and appearance, including profile analysis.
Machine Vision System - Propertech ProVision.
ProVision is the machine vision system
— also called a visual inspection system or vision machine — developed by Propertech.
It incorporates the latest processing techniques, optical assemblies and interface tools to learn new
models and adjust parameters.
The customer sets the requirements without being locked into an off-the-shelf solution or dependent on a foreign vendor.
We develop the complete application domestically, aiming for the best technical-cost-performance ratio using:
- Smart cameras from Cognex
with In-Sight Explorer,
Matrox IrisGTR,
Teledyne Dalsa BOA,
Keyence Vision Systems,
Roseek Woodpecker1;
- Image processing software such as
Cognex VisionPro,
Matrox Design Assistant,
Adaptive Vision Studio / Library and
open-source libraries such as OpenCV;
- Optics and line-scan or area-scan cameras, in a range of resolutions and spectral bands as required;
- Illuminators and special optics.
Developed by Propertech Tecnologia in line with Industry 4.0.
With automated metrology, manufacturers get accurate, real-time, traceable data for
process assurance and trend evaluation.
The measurement JIG is fed by an XYZG robot. The system measures 13 direct features (dimensions and diameters) and relational features (true position),
reference distances and surface treatment layer, with base repeatability of ± 2 µm. Auto-calibration compensates for temperature variation.
Applications:
- Machining or assembly lines;
- Final inspection at shipping;
- Parts ranging from surgical needles to engine blocks, in different shapes and sizes.
As a "modular product", the project's main components — software, robotics, electrical and automation —
are readily adaptable and proven, enabling short implementation schedules.
Developed with VisionPro software. A manipulator feeds the seal ring into the machine
at station 1; after inspection it transfers to station 2, flipping the ring over. Three high-resolution
line-scan cameras evaluate the main, auxiliary, deflector and lateral seal lips.
Three line-scan cameras perform high-resolution inspection of the main and
auxiliary sealing lips on oil seal rings.
Results are presented graphically, with tolerances parameterized for the various
seal types.
Evaluates 1 seal every 2 seconds.
Measures 100% of the channels and tip topology of the valve during production,
with repeatability of ±2 μm.
Uses a special optical system to illuminate and
capture images, ensuring the controlled dimensions of automotive valves.
Capacity for 2 valves per second.
Generates Cp, Cpk control charts.
Works with every type of marking on metal.
Inspects more than 1000 engines/markings per hour.
Windows-style human-machine interface with touchscreen.
Reports with all images and events from inspections performed.
Inspection results are displayed dynamically on screen for review by the
operator, production engineering and quality teams.
Biometric control for operator failure release.
Easy transfer of images and reports for future engineering processes.
Relevant production indicators are readily accessible on screen.
Detects defects such as pinholes, scratches, streaks and stains on surfaces.
Identifies, locates and measures defects with 0.1% precision relative to the field of view.
Captures sequential images and stitches a full-frame image, analyzing it against
pre-established criteria per object type, such as the maximum number of allowed defects and
the minimum distance between defects.
Speed of up to 12 m/min.
Optical resolution of 100 lpm.
Inspection images and data are kept available for traceability for up to 3 months.
Operator interface with easy maintenance, touchscreen monitor.
The ProTube system measures external diameter, internal diameter and density of the explosive mix inside the plastic tube.
It consists of an optical system (camera, lens, filters and illuminators), a touchscreen monitor
for inspection images and easy data entry, and an electrical interface.
Inspects with a resolution of ~33 μm/pixel, at speeds of up to ~100 m/min.
If a failure is found, it marks the fault position on the tube.
Works with every type of part.
Inspects up to 1000 engines per hour.
Windows-style human-machine interface with touchscreen.
Reports with all images and events from inspections performed.
Inspection results are displayed dynamically on screen for review by the
operator, production engineering and quality teams.
Biometric control for operator failure release.
Optional smartphone-based failure release for the operator.
Easy transfer of images and reports for future engineering processes.
Relevant production indicators are readily accessible on screen.
The ProVision system developed by Propertech identifies the engine with a CCD camera,
signals the correct gasket in the parts bin, waits for that gasket to be picked up and placed on the engine
and, with a second camera, confirms that the correct gasket was installed.
Deviations are displayed on screen.
Works with every gasket model.
Biometric control for operator failure release.
Reports with all images and events from inspections performed for up to one year.
Automatic error-proof gasket dispensing bin.
ProVision Brushes continuously inspects 100% of brush tufts on the production line, using a
color CCD camera and computer, detecting defects with reliability and traceability.
The intuitive touchscreen interface speeds up setup for new brushes. Detection of
missing tufts, or fewer bristles than expected, triggers automatic rejection without the machine
stopping its operation. ProVision Brushes can also check bristle color standardization for each brush.
It was developed by Propertech and works with all types of
brushes, in various colors and shapes.
Inspection system that evaluates the final assembled unit, checking presence, dimensions and
reference points. In this implementation, the system consists of a RACK and a mobile imager.
Checks presence/absence of components, fasteners and welds.
Measures coordinates between mounting holes and references.
Detects trends and alerts for repetitive failures.
Allows on-site rework.
Generates a serial label with manufacturer/customer code.
